Microwave. To have or have not.

Do you have a microwave now?  How often do you use it?  If you don't have a microwave, how often do you miss it?  Until recently, I have had a microwave for as long as I can remember.  I did not realize, until I didn't have one, how much I used a microwave.  Even though, I didn't like the way it heated, re-heated, or cooked just about anything; even boiling water.  I much prefer to the way food turns out when cooked on a stove or in an oven; I just don't like the increased mess.  A Microwave is a convenience of time; not only in the cooking process, but also the clean up process.  To reheat a slice of pizza with a microwave takes about a total of 2 minutes including cleanup.  To reheat a slice of pizza in the oven, it takes about 5 minutes just for the oven to get hot enough.  Now what about soup?  A microwave; 2 minutes, as long as you cover it with a papertowel so it doesn't splatter all over the inside of the microwave.  A stop top; 5 minutes to get the soup hot in a pot and then you have to hand wash the pot, because you cant put it in the dishwasher.  I could go on, like lasagna.

However, know that I haven't had a microwave for 6 months; I don't miss it.  So, if the new apartment you are looking at doesnt have a microwave is it really that big of a deal?  Hey I think there is enough space on my counter for a toater oven.
