Ormond Beach is the "Birthplace of Speed" for the United States of America, holding the first speed trial in 1903.  Ormond Beach is nestled on the north side of Daytona Beach.  Just far enough to be out of the hustle and bustle of Daytona Beach.  Also, being right off of I-95 means you can be in Orlando in less than an hour.  Ormond Beach is the perfect location to many awesome Daytona Beach attractions.

Things to Do in Ormond Beach

With its small town feel and located next to the busier Daytona Beach, Ormond Beach offers a real sense of community.  The Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center is a 23,000+ square foot theatre that seats 600 patrons in a stadium-styled setting. The venue hosts national, regional and local theatrical troupes, schools, dance programs, concerts and seminars.  You can visit the Ormond Memorial Art Museum and Gardens or the former winter home of John D. Rockefeller - Casements.  If you like the outdoors, you can do any of the beach activities.  Plus you can visit Takoma State Park or go golfing at the Halifax Plantation Golf Course or Tomoka Oaks Golf and Country Club.  You can also go fishing, boating, kayaking, and more on the Halifax River.

For the little ones, choosing a school can be an important decision for your family and in Ormond Beach there are a variety of schools to choose from. The public elementary schools serving the Ormond Beach area are Tomoka Elementary School, Pine Trail Elementary School, Ormond Elementary School, Pathways Elementary School, Osceola Elementary and the middle school is Ormond Beach Middle School.  Seabreeze High School is located a few miles away. Traffic and Driving in Ormond Beach

In the mornings and afternoons, Granada Boulevard can get a little congested.  Through most of Ormond Beach traffic is hardly ever a problem.  You can cruise down Williamson Boulevard, Clyde Morris Boulevard, Nova Road, Ridgewood Avenue, Beach Street, Hand Avenue, and of course Ocean Shore Boulevard / Atlantic Avenue.
