Is Daytona Beach a safe city?

Over all, Daytona Beach has a quiet beach town feel and is relatively safe. The crime rate in Daytona Beach isn't as high as in other larger cities. Most crimes in Daytona Beach are related to property damage and burglary when residents aren't home. There are a few parts of town where you want to keep your eyes open like Seabreeze, which is just out on the peninsula of Daytona, and certain parts near Bethune Village.

If you have any concerns for your safety, get to know your local authorities. There is the Daytona Beach Police Department and the Volusia County Sheriff's Office. All are at your very call to protect and serve you and your community.

In the case of an emergency, always call 9-1-1 and know your non-emergency numbers, too! For DBPD non-emergency calls dial (386) 671-5100, or you can even report a crime online! For Volusia County Sheriff's Office non-emergencies in Daytona Beach dial (386) 254-4689.

Like anywhere else, pay attention to your surroundings, lock up your belongings and you will be fine.
