Where can I go shopping in Daytona Beach?

Depending on where your Daytona Beach apartment is located, you are mere minutes from being able to whip out that credit card to satisfy that retail therapy need. Malls, shopping plazas and local, unique shopping complexes provide a variety of shopping options for both the Daytona resident and visitor.

The Volusia Mall, located right across from the Daytona International Speedway, is both convenient in location as well as store selection. Major department stores such as Macy's, JC Penney, Dillard's and Sears anchor the mall's variety of stores. You'll also find mainstream stores like Victoria's Secret, Hollister & Co., Abercrombie & Fitch, Bath & Body Works, Hallmark, and a Barnes and Noble. Justice, Gymboree and Crazy 8 as well as the department stores allow you to dress your little one in the latest fashions.

The mall also features a food court offering quick service food options like Subway, Taco Bell and Chick-Fil-A. Located outside the mall, but on property are casual family dining restaurants like Applebee's, Olive Garden and Bahama Breeze Island Grille. Whether you're looking for a retreat from the heat or are just in need of a new outfit, the Volusia Mall gives you a great chance at finding just what you need.

International Speedway Boulevard also offers shopping opportunities in various plazas along the strip. You'll find Publix, Best Buy, Old Navy, Bed Bath & Beyond, Stein Mart, Staples, Michaels, and a Dick's Sporting Goods nestled among smaller shops such as mattress, shoe and other specialty stores.

If you want a more unique shopping experience, head to Downtown Daytona Beach's Riverfront Shops, located on Beach Street between Bay Street and Orange Avenue. Featuring more than 60 shops, restaurants and other attractions, this waterfront shopping mecca has been welcoming visitors since 1870 and is a must-do. The area is dotted with locally owned specialty food and wine shops, jewelry stores, gift shops and even antiques.

Just across the river from the shops, you'll find picturesque Beach Street, which is home to a Farmers' Market every Saturday from 7:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Pick up your fresh, organic produce; homemade baked goods and other local specialties at this delightful weekly event. Vendors also offer plants, crafts and other goods. TIP: Make sure to bring cash as vendors do not accept credit cards.

If you want to stay Oceanside, visit the Ocean Walk Shoppes at 250 N. Atlantic Avenue. This family-friendly complex offers unique dining, shopping as well as entertainment experiences. With dining options such as Bubba Gump Shrimp Company and unique stores like Maui Nix Surf Shop, this bold, colorful complex is eye-catching and enjoyable. An on-site movie theatre is a great way to round out your day.

And in less than an hour, a quick drive to the north to St. Augustine or west to Orlando, also provides Daytona Beach residents with even more shopping opportunities, including numerous outlet malls.

So whether you live beachside, or near the speedway, Daytona offers several convenient shopping areas for you to shop until you drop! Just make sure your car (and your apartment!) can hold all those purchases!
