For a small laid back beach town, New Smyrna Beach has so much to do and see.  Of course, there are the beaches were you can; surf, sunbathe, walk, look for sea shells, swim, play, and just relax.  Just steps away from the beach you can go; kayaking, fishing, boating, golf, tennis, spas, river cruises, parks, and historical sites.  Although it's not as big or as famous as Daytona International Speedway, New Smyrna Beach has it's own New Smyrna Speedway.  It may only be 1/2 mile long, but it has great excitement and races most Saturday nights.

When you're shopping in New Smyrna Beach, you can't miss all the great shops on Flagler Avenue.  Along with great local bars and restaurants, including the Riverview Inn and Grill over looking the inland waterways.  You can even tie up your boat here, eat and relax.  The nearest mall to apartments in New Smyrna Beach is the Volusia Mall, located in Daytona Beach just a few minutes away.

Whether you want to call it the Dixie Freeway, City Avenue, or Ridgewood Avenue; this and State Road 44 are the main roads on the inland side of New Smyrna Beach.  Glencoe Road, Old Mission Road, 10th Street and Sugar Mill are a few others.  The main streets on the beach side of New Smyrna Beach are A1A, Flagler, and Peninsula Avenue.  Traffic is rarely a problem during the week, on weekends it gets busier with all the beach-goers coming to experience the great beaches and great town of New Smyrna Beach.
