Get to know…Deland and Orange City

Deland and Orange City are located in Volusia County.  They are about 10 miles west of Daytona Beach, 10 miles north of Sanford, and 30 miles north of Orlando.  With easy access to I-4, running to the beach is only 15 minutes away or Walt Disney World takes 45 minutes.  Deland and Orange City are close to the beaches and Orlando, with out all the traffic.  Deland and Orange City have the smaller town and a little bit of country feel.

Things to do in Deland and Orange City

There are plenty of unique things to see and do that are nearby to Deland and Orange City apartments. For the nature enthusiast, Deleon Springs State Park is such a beautiful place to go canoeing and start the day with pancakes at the Sugar Mill.  Visit Blue Springs State Park or take a leisurely cruise with St. Johns River Cruises as the St.Johns River is just West of both cities.  DeLand's Fall Festival of the Arts and the DeLand Outdoor Art Festival are nationally recognized, bringing people in from all over the State and U.S..   The Volusia county Fair is great fun every year just off of I-4 and State Road 44.  In between and just east of Deland and Orange City is the world famous town of Cassadaga, where spiritualist have flocked since the 19th century, go get your fortune told or your palm read. Stetson University in Deland always has something going on, with speakers, plays, musical performances, and art.  Also, Downtown Deland has a great mix of shopping, dinning, and nightlife.

Shopping in Deland and Orange City

Shopping in Deland and Orange City is dominated by the quaint and vibrant downtown Deland.  Downtown Deland has great boutiques and specialty item stores as well as fabulous dinning and live entertainment.  If you have to have a mall, Volusia mall is about 20 minutes away in Daytona and the Seminole Town Center Mall is about 20 minutes away in Sanford.  All along 17-92 as it bisects both Deland and Orange City there are smaller shopping centers and also on most of the major roads.

Driving and Traffic in Deland and Orange City.

The major road in Deland and Orange City is 17-92, also called Volusia Avenue and Woodland Boulevard, as it runs north and south thru the heart of both cities.  During rush hour and sometimes on the weekends 17-92 can get a little backed up with traffic, but nothing to get to worked up over.  Running North and South are Spring Garden Avenue, Hill Avenue, and Kepler road.  New York Avenue or State Road 44 runs thru the middle of Deland heading East and West.  Also, heading East and West are Euclid Avenue, Minnesota Avenue, Beresford Avenue, Taylor Road, and International Speedway Boulevard.  In Orange City to head north or south, besides 17-92 (Volusia Avenue) you have Veterans Memorial Parkway and Leavitt Avenue.
